Performer Refutes Anti-Vaxxer Position Following Lending His Voice To Disputed Pandemic Film
The acclaimed actor has given his voice to a feature-length documentary that questions the legitimacy of vaccinations and commends ex- government figure RFK Jr.
The Documentary's Contentious Origins
Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is based on a bestselling book written by Judy Mikovits, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for allegations that the virus was caused by a bad strain of the influenza shot.
The book's co-author, Kent Heckenlively, has previously authored books with conspiracy-prone radio host Alex Jones. He took to social media celebrating Neeson's role in the project.
A Firm Statement
The team of the actor have released a response pushing back against implications that he subscribes to anti-vax beliefs.
"Everyone can recognize that unethical practices can exist within the medical sector, but that should never be equated to being against vaccines," the response explains. "Neeson is not, and is not, against vaccines. His long work with Unicef highlights his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."
The statement noted that the actor was not involved in crafting the film's narrative and that inquiries about its assertions are best addressed to the filmmakers.
Major Claims In the Film
As presented, the script read by Neeson makes several provocative points:
- It suggests that pro-immunization voices have called for "complete compliance" to health authorities.
- It argues that "medical science has become highly politicized."
- RFK Jr is featured stating, "The major issue with vaccines is that they are not properly vetted."
- It also criticizes Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused severe distress that cost thousands of lives.
- On the topic of pandemic shots, it mentions a view that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "risky trials."
Historical Controversy and Current Issues
The documentary includes a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was later the topic of a correction by the network for unbalanced reporting.
Last month, RFK Jr instructed the CDC to revise its longstanding position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism. This claim is also referenced in the documentary, contrary to a fresh analysis from the World Health Organisation confirming no connection has been found.
A Previous Record of Endorsement
Contrasting the film's narrative, Neeson has formerly shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Previously, he referred to vaccines as "a remarkable achievement," stating that "The conversation about vaccines in recent years has forgotten how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in our history."
"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's voice saying, "This is not the conclusion of our narrative. Rather, it is the dawn of a different phase."
